So let me start by saying that I am passionate about all things in the wonderful world of marketing, but I am particularly interested in social media. And I have one person to thank for this new found interest, and that is Sir Willam Tincup. Ok so he is not a knight, but it does sound pretty cool (William you might want to look into getting that done).
My story begins one day when I was looking online at UT-Arlington's Career Services website (the best $25 I have ever spent by the way) and stumbled upon an internship with this company called Starr Tincup. So I look up the website and immediately think I have ended up on the wrong site. It looks nothing like the typical marketing firm websites I have seen before. So I do some investigating and read some information and I find the intern testimonials (mine is there too now!). After reading the first few I was hooked, this place seemed crazy and I wanted in. I felt that I would really learn a lot and I wouldn't be just one of those interns doing shit work like making copies and trying to look busy because there was nothing to do. I have been there and done that, it's not fun. And what's more you feel like you are wasting your time. So I sent William an email and my resume and we scheduled an interview. The interview went well and William offered me a position as a Social Media Intern. He told me to go home and think about it and let him know in a few days. Let me tell you there was nothing to think about! Thus began my journey at the best place I have ever worked!
In short, I wanted to take this time to thank William for giving me the opportunity to learn so much and be a part of his company. The people at Starr Tincup are absolutely wonderful and if you are an HR Vendor in need of marketing services, these are the people to talk to. They know their shit and are good at what they do.

Sir William...that does sound cool.
ReplyDeleteSo would you like to specialize in social media. I know for a fact Cara that whatever that is that you set your mind to, you do it well, really really well. One of your best qualities.
I checked out their website too, and you are right looks pretty different then usual Marketing firms.

ReplyDeleteThat is really nice of you to say Amber. I would love to work in social media full-time. For now I am just trying to continually learn and read about trends in social media. Thanks for following!
